Social Sciences and Humanities Profile for Grades 10–11

The Social Sciences and Humanities Profile is a senior-school format for pupils who want more structured time for subjects connected with society, history, language and future humanities-oriented study.

It is a personalised programme for pupils considering a social-sciences or humanities direction at university.

What is included

  • Advanced work in the history of Ukraine and world history, Ukrainian language and literature, and English.
  • Weekly intensive online lessons in the selected profile subjects.
  • Two online class lessons with a teacher per month in other subjects.
  • Preparation for the NMT in advanced subjects.
  • A specialised group of up to 10 pupils.
  • Support from a profile curator.
  • Access to advanced and core materials, tests, additional resources and practical tasks through the learning platform.

Pupils complete the required work in the profile and core programme by the stated semester deadlines. Ask the school to explain the current assessment requirements for subjects outside the profile.

Possible future directions

Possible areas include law, philology, psychology, translation, journalism, political science, sociology, history, public administration, art history, cultural studies and archaeology. A profile helps a pupil focus school time; it does not lock them into a university choice.
