Dzherelo Online School Study Formats
There is no single “best” online school schedule. A pupil who studies abroad alongside a local school, a family looking for a full daily online timetable, and a senior pupil preparing for the NMT need different levels of live teaching and support.
Dzherelo offers formats for grades 1–11. Every format is built around the Ukrainian curriculum; the main differences are the learning rhythm, teacher contact, practical work and assessment.
A quick guide to the formats
| Format | Best suited to | Teacher contact |
|---|---|---|
| Student Light | Pupils who can study mostly independently | Monthly online subject review |
| Student Basic | Independent learners who need additional materials and regular guidance | Two online subject lessons per month for grades 5–11; one monthly subject review for grades 1–4 |
| Student Extra | Pupils whose main school day is online | Grades 1–4: 2–3 live lessons each weekday; grades 5–9: three live lessons a day, Monday–Thursday |
| Student Profile | Grades 10–11 pupils seeking an intensive focus in selected subjects | Weekly profile lessons plus two online lessons in each subject per month |
| External Studies Basic | Families seeking the most independent assessment-focused route | One subject review per semester |
The table is a guide, not a substitute for an admissions conversation. The appropriate format depends on the pupil’s age, current school situation, timetable and intended pace of study.
Primary school: grades 1–4
Student Extra
This is the full-schedule option for a pupil whose education is taking place at home. It includes core and additional learning materials, practical tasks, and two or three live lessons each weekday, Monday to Friday. Groups have up to 20 pupils. Required work is completed in each subject during the two semesters, with support from the class curator.
Student Basic
Student Basic combines independent work with additional materials, practical tasks and one online class review with a teacher in each subject every month. Pupils complete the required work for both semesters and receive individual curator support.
Student Light
Student Light is designed for mostly independent work, including family-learning arrangements. Pupils have access to core materials and tests, one monthly online subject review and up to eight diagnostic assessments per subject across the school year. A class curator supports the pupil throughout the year.
External Studies Basic
This route includes core materials and tests, a semesterly online subject review and one comprehensive annual assessment in each subject. Where approved by the school, the format may allow a pupil to complete two or more grades in one year.
Lower secondary school: grades 5–9
Student Extra
Student Extra is the highest-contact option for grades 5–9. It includes core and additional materials, practical tasks, three scheduled live lessons each day from Monday to Thursday, and groups of up to 20 pupils. Required work is completed across both semesters with curator support.
Student Basic
Student Basic includes core and additional materials, practical tasks and two online class lessons with a teacher in each subject every month. Pupils complete the required work for both semesters and have a class curator to support the process.
Student Light

External Studies Basic
The external-studies route provides core materials and tests, semesterly online subject reviews and one comprehensive annual assessment in every subject. The school can explain whether completing more than one grade in one year is suitable in a particular case.
Senior school: grades 10–11
Student Light
Student Light offers an independent route through the senior-school programme, with core materials and tests, one monthly online review in each subject, required final work and curator support.
Student Basic
Student Basic adds additional materials, practical tasks and two online class lessons with a teacher in every subject each month.
Student Profile
Student Profile combines the regular school programme with intensive work in a chosen profile. It includes weekly live lessons in advanced subjects, preparation for the National Multi-Subject Test in those subjects, groups of up to 10 pupils, and two online subject lessons per month across the programme.
External Studies Basic
For senior pupils studying independently, this route includes core learning materials, semesterly online subject reviews, annual comprehensive assessment and curator support. Discuss Grade 11 timing and assessment requirements with admissions before choosing it.
NMT preparation and optional courses
The school offers preparation for the National Multi-Subject Test in Ukrainian language, mathematics, English, history of Ukraine, biology, geography, physics and chemistry, including online work with a teacher, review of tasks and mistakes, and progress monitoring.
Optional services include advanced mathematics, foreign-language options, public-speaking classes, an English Speaking Club and free elective activities.
Choosing a format with confidence
Start with the pupil’s actual week: how much time is available, whether they also attend a local school, how much live teaching they need and whether any important assessments are coming up. The admissions office can explain the current formats and help a family compare them.
