Ukrainian Online School for Grades 5–9

Grades 5–9 are a time when pupils need both subject depth and a routine they can manage themselves. Dzherelo’s online formats range from a timetable with frequent live lessons to an external-studies route for pupils working more independently.

Each format follows the Ukrainian curriculum. They differ in the frequency of live contact, the range of materials, and the way required work is organised.

Student formats

Student Extra — the most lesson-intensive option

Student Extra is for families who want the school day to take place online with regular, scheduled work with teachers.

  • Core learning materials and tests.
  • Additional materials and practical tasks.
  • Three live lessons a day from Monday to Thursday, according to the timetable.
  • Classes of up to 20 pupils.
  • Completion of the required work in each subject during the first and second semesters.
  • Individual support from the class curator throughout the school year.

Student Basic — structured independent study with twice-monthly lessons

Student Basic is for pupils who can work independently day to day but need more practical material and regular direct contact with teachers.

  • Core learning materials and tests.
  • Additional materials and practical tasks.
  • Two live online class lessons with a teacher in each subject every month.
  • Completion of the required work in each subject during both semesters.
  • Individual support from the class curator throughout the school year.

Student Light — independent learning with monthly subject reviews

Student Light is intended for pupils who mainly work through the programme independently, including pupils in family-learning arrangements.

  • Core learning materials and tests.
  • One live online class review with a teacher in each subject every month.
  • Required end-of-semester work in each subject.
  • Individual support from the class curator throughout the school year.

External Studies Basic

External Studies Basic is designed for pupils whose circumstances require a primarily independent route through the programme.

  • Core learning materials and tests.
  • One live online class review with a teacher in each subject per semester.
  • One comprehensive annual assessment in each subject, due by the end of the second semester.
  • The option to complete two or more grades in one year where this is appropriate and approved by the school.
  • Individual support from the class curator throughout the school year.

School year

For grades 5–8, the study period is nine months. Grade 9 is ten months. The first semester is September to December; the second is January to May.

Discounts and additional options

A 5% reduction applies for annual payment for all formats, and a 15% reduction for External Studies Basic when two grades are taken in one year. Documentary discounts are available for eligible families, and discounts are not cumulative.

Optional services include advanced mathematics, German as a second foreign language and a public-speaking course. Confirm availability, grades, prices and conditions with the admissions office.

How to choose a format

Choose Student Extra if a pupil benefits from a regular live timetable. Choose Student Basic when independent daily work is realistic but two live lessons per subject per month will provide useful structure. Choose Student Light for a more self-directed pace with monthly subject reviews. Consider External Studies only after discussing the assessment route and workload with the admissions office.

Questions families often ask

How often are live lessons held in grades 5–9?

It depends on the selected format. Student Extra includes three scheduled lessons a day from Monday to Thursday. Student Basic includes two online lessons in each subject per month. Student Light includes one monthly review in each subject, while External Studies Basic includes one review in each subject per semester.

Can a pupil study from outside Ukraine?

The format is online, but families outside Ukraine should agree a suitable routine, time-zone expectations and document process with the admissions office before enrolment.

Can a pupil complete more than one grade in a year?

The option to complete more than one grade in a year is available within External Studies Basic. It is not automatic: the school must confirm the appropriate route, workload and assessment procedure for the pupil.

Where are the current fees shown?

Use the central price table rather than a programme-page screenshot or an older announcement. It should be the single current source for fees and conditions.
